Developing Self-Directed Learners

Yellow Rulers

As traditional classroom settings evolve, faculty members are challenged to meet the instructional needs of a community of learners who may be underprepared for middle school or high school in an age of digital learning. Students will need to become self-directed learners as they too transition to different modalities of course delivery. This informative workshop for

faculty teaching grades 6-12 provides strategies for developing self-directed learners across a spectrum of classroom learning environments. Participants in this workshop will learn how to help students to persist in their studies, plan their approach to assignments, self-assess their work, and take ownership of their learning strengths and preferences as they navigate changing educational dynamics.
