Our mission is to empower educators to improve their pedagogical practice and self-efficacy using cooperative and active learning, problem/project-based learning, brain-friendly instruction, and student engagement strategies.

Dr. Laurell Malone, CEO

Dr. Laurell Malone is the CEO of PC² Educational Consultants LLC leveraging 30 years of experience to bring Power, Creativity and Commitment to the field of education and instructional leadership. She is a tenured associate professor in educational leadership and coordinator for the Office of Faculty Professional Development at North Carolina Central University. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Biology from Earlham College, a Master of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Virginia, a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Educational Administration from Virginia Tech University, and a Doctorate of Educational Administration from Virginia Tech University. Dr. Malone has served the field of education as a teacher, principal, assistant principal, educational consultant, instructional and leadership coach, program evaluator, and college instructor.

Shauntae Brown White

Shauntae Brown White, Ph.D. is a professor in the Department of Mass Communication at North Carolina Central University where she also serves as the coordinator of the Women’s & Gender Studies program. Dr. White earned her doctorate from the University of Kansas in Communication Studies, a certificate in Effective Teaching Practices and credentials in Effective Online Teaching Practices in Higher Education by the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE). She is a recipient of the 2020 University of North Carolina Board of Governors Award for Excellence in Teaching and serves as a Faculty Fellow in the Office of Faculty Development at North Carolina Central University. Dr. White exhibits creativity in the classroom to engage students and make course topics relevant to everyday life.  She has presented workshops on the Motivational Syllabus, the Layered Curriculum, Facilitating Engaging Lectures and Discussions and Aligning Grading Practices to Learning Outcomes.

Catrina DosReis

Catrina DosReis is an experienced career and professional development specialist with expertise in data assessment, career counseling, training, job development and program management. She earned a Master of Arts in Higher Education and Organization Leadership from Columbia University, and is a doctorate candidate at Northeastern University. She is a certified trainer for Vital Smarts, including its premiere conflict resolution workshop, Crucial Conversations. DosReis offers a diverse background in education and training, and thrives in providing direction and planning that will enable others to hone success skills that will meet their professional goals. In the 15 years she has spent directing college career centers at for-profit, Ivy League, Jesuit, and HBCU institutions, DosReis has built successful alliances with community members and corporations for recruitment, programming, sponsorships, and grants.
