CEO & HEAD CONSULTANT
Dr. Laurell Malone is the CEO of PC2 Educational Consultants LLC leveraging 30 years of experience to bring Power, Creativity and Commitment to the field of education and instructional leadership. She is a tenured associate professor in educational leadership and coordinator for the Office of Faculty Professional Development at North Carolina Central University. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Biology from Earlham College, a Master of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Virginia, a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Educational Administration from Virginia Tech University, and a Doctorate of Educational Administration from Virginia Tech University. Dr. Malone has served the field of education as a teacher, principal, assistant principal, educational consultant, instructional and leadership coach, program evaluator, and college instructor. She has conducted educational workshops, seminars, institutes, and professional development activities at conferences, schools, school districts, and colleges locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally. Her research and interest in culturally responsive pedagogy and best instructional practices have taken her to London and Paris to gain a global perspective on what can be done in teaching and learning to maximize student achievement at all levels. Dr. Malone has written, co-authored, and published several articles. She served on a state environmental education advisory board as well as the environmental literacy plan work group for the state of North Carolina.
Dr. Malone’s specialty areas include school administration, instructional leadership, curriculum development and design, student engagement for the millennial and adult learner, professional development, culturally responsive pedagogy, environmental education, program management, and Praxis Preparation. She is a dynamic presenter who uses humor, brain-friendly strategies, and movement to actively engage participants in the teaching and learning process. The importance of power, commitment, creativity, and self-efficacy to professional success and achievement are emphasized throughout her courses, workshops, seminars, and presentations.
Catrina offers a diverse background in education and training, and thrives in providing direction and planning that will enable others to hone success skills that will meet their professional goals. She has spent most of her career serving as a higher education professional in which she has leveraged her background in to 10+ years facilitating professional development workshops, providing career counseling, and incorporating career resource technologies. In addition, Catrina has worked as an employer relations manager to enhance job development and corporate support for college students and alumni. She has worked at multiple institutions including Columbia University, Fordham University, and North Carolina Central University.
